Obituary of Glen James RICHELHOFF

Glen Richelhoff, of Calgary, AB, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the age of 59 years.

Glen was born January 24, 1962 at Stettler, AB to Fred and Bertha (Zieger), the ninth of ten children. He started school at Halkirk, AB and then completed his education at Father Lacombe in Calgary, AB.  He worked at various jobs at Rockyview Hospital, Calgary Catholic School Board and Glenbow Museum.  Up until his retirement he worked for the City of Calgary Transit Department for over twenty-seven years. On November 28, 1986 he married Shirley Morgan.  To this union two sons were born, Jason and Jessie. Glen was an accomplished wood worker, sharing his art with his family and friends.  He most enjoyed spending time at the homestead by Stettler, AB and visiting with his family. He will be most remembered for his extreme honesty, hard work ethic, his infectious laugh, unique sense of humour and his love of animals.  Glen was truly one of a kind, a gentle soul at heart and his absence will forever be felt.

Besides his loving wife Shirley, Glen is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jessie and Savannah; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerald, Mervin and Evelyn, Cliff and Anna, Wayne, Perry and Michelle; sister Linda, as well as sisters-in-law, Jean, Barb and Kim; and brothers-in-law, Ken and Glenn Morgan. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. 

Glen was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Bertha, brothers, Vern, Victor and Ken; sister-in-law Heather, niece Melanie, parents-in-law, Laurence and Evelyn Morgan and brother-in-law Murray. 

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
