Obituary of Dylan-Joeseph Lorne FINDLATER

January 13, 1994 – Calgary, Alberta

May 11, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dylan-Joeseph Findlater, on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at the age of 27 years.  He passed peacefully in the loving arms of his mom, Cori Imbery, dad, Lee Findlater, and brother, Devin Findlater.  He battled ferociously for as long as possible, and we are so incredibly proud of how he went through it with the highest of integrity and character.  Dylan rarely let his recent struggles affect his hope, compassion and humour; he was always cracking jokes and comforting everyone around him.

Dylan affected many lives through his short twenty-seven year journey, we will all miss his infectious smile, whole hearted laugh, boundless energy, unconditional kindness, limitless talent, gentle touch, spunky wit; the list goes on.

There is a hole in our lives that will never be filled, but we take comfort knowing he is now at peace, and has no more pain. He is free and among the sun and stars shining down on all of us.

Our angel on earth has become the true angel that he is.  We will miss you every second of every day.

Thank you Dylan for teaching us to shoot straight, sing more, complain less, and lead with our hearts.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Grossman and Dr. Genge for your kind, compassionate and dedicated attention. Dylan appreciated everything and knew how hard you fought for him. His nurse in ICU, Quinn, who went out of his way to get a Mothers Day gift and card for Dylan to give to his mother, a truly selfless act that will be cherished for an eternity. And to the countless staff, nurses and doctors at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic,  Foothills ICU and Unit 57. You were all so amazing with the care you gave Dylan, making his battle seem not as bad as it actually was. AND you did all this in the middle of a pandemic, from the bottom of our hearts – THANK YOU.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Dylan’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com  and the dedicated Facebook group; Memories of Dylan.
