Obituary of Irvine (Irv) Leonard YOUNG

December 25, 1934 – Melfort, Saskatchewan
May 17, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Our beloved husband and father, Irvine Leonard Young of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 17, 2021 at the age of 86 years.

Irv was born in Melfort, SK, on December 25, 1934. His early years were spent on a homestead in Pleasantdale, SK, before moving to Port Moody, BC. After high school Irv started at the Ioco Refinery and was transferred to Edmonton and then to Calgary. Irv retired as a Senior Accountant with over forty years with Imperial Oil Ltd. Irv married his high school sweetheart, Barbara and they were inseparable for sixty-four years. Irv was the most wonderful, patient and caring person in the world. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.

Irv is survived by his wife, Barbara, his sons, Cameron (Anna) and Mark (Luana); his daughter, Leslie (Lindsay), his grandchildren, Kyle, Kaley, Chad, Ethan, Noel, Patricia, Ryan, Christopher, Amanda (Geoff), Thomas; and great-granddaughters, Eleanor and Margaret; and beloved dogs Finn, Kya and Max.
