Condolences
To the extended family, my sincerest condolences. I last saw Nancy and you all at the Glencoe Club on the 90th BE Day, joyously celebrating with this vibrant lady, beloved by so many. For many decades, Nancy was my late Mom's (Betty Perry) trusted family doctor and dear friend. For a time she also cared for my daughter and I with understanding and her amazing network of specialists. In later times, I would enjoy meeting up with Nancy at coffee after mass at St. Mary's, in the locker room at Killarney after a deep water workout or in the St James Hall after a talk from a visiting Jesuit bringing news of Father Abraham (my uncle). Nancy made life better for so many people and I do pray for the repose of her soul and that perpetual light will shine upon her.
We have known Dr. Maguire for many years, first as a member of the Calgary Choral Society Choir and then as our family doctor, for Dad, Michael and Annette. We appreciated her thoroughness and her sense of humor, and over the years we became friends. We are so sorry about her passing and we present our heartfelt condolences to her family.
All the best and God bless,
Michael and Annette Hallworth
I have known Dr. Nancy Maguire since 1967. I worked with her husband, Derek, and we became friends over the years. Enjoyed many happy and sad occasions. My condolences to the family. A wonderful lady who will certainly missed.
Dear Brian and Lizzie and Claire and your children. It was not long ago I sent your Mom a Mass Card for my own mother's funeral, Peggy Taylor's, in March. I sent it to the Agape Hospice. Every new year's day your Mom maintained her residence in the family home in Elbow Park she would invite my parents, and I often had the pleasure of standing in for my Mom and tagging along with my Dad, Nick Taylor. Michael was always there, and I caught up with his news yearly, and I am sorry to see that he predeceased your Mom, too. This house in Elbow Park held special memories for me because I used to babysit the lot of you when Nancy and Derek needed to go out for the evening. I used to draw you pictures, on the promise that once you received yours, you would gracefully slide into bed and go to sleep, so that I could privately indulge in your parents' 33 RPM collection of Shakespeare's plays.. Once I promised Lizzie a drawing, but I got wrapped up in the play I was listening to, and forgot to leave it for her in the morning as I had promised.. I don't know if she ever forgave me. Pease accept my family's condolences, and mine especially.
It is with a sad heart that I read Dr. Maguire's obituary today. We have lost a truly remarkable lady. I was her patient for over 10 years and I never saw her hesitate over a medical recommendation in that time. She truly gave of herself to help others.
I worked for Dr. Maguire for many moons, over 23 years. We spend our full days together and she never ceased to amaze me. She would meet me at work early in the morning and her wet bathing suit would be hanging in the hall as she had already been to the outdoor pool and did an hour worth of laps. She used to frustrate me by being so accommodating to patients, she was over the top kind and went the extra mile all the time, the office would always being running late due to this. Her intelligence was obvious, her bright blue eyes knowing all. She always continued to read and research in the evenings after a full day at work, she had no TV at the home. I will miss this lady, she was like a grandmother to me in many ways. Bless her heart for all she has done for the world.
I only worked with Nancy for a short time in Occupational Health at the Foothills Hospital and, as usual, with Nancy we became long standing friends. I loved that she was always so intensely engaged with the patients she treated, never condescending, always willing to go the extra mile to deal with their concerns. I admired her, was inspired by her and honoured to be her friend. God speed to a pillar who gave so much to so many! Joey Stewart
The members of the 5th. Dimension Outdoor Club were saddened to hear that Dr. Nancy had passed away. Nancy was a founding member of our club and was very active until a few years ago. Nancy loved the mountains and enjoyed being out with us most Thursdays whether hiking in summer or skiing and snowshoeing in the winter months. She was familiar with most of the trails in both the Kananaskis and the Banff area and could be relied upon to lead many hiking groups in these areas without ever getting lost!
Nancy was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by all our members. Her pleasant personality and love for love were much admired.
We offer our deepest condolences to Nancy’s extended family as they mourn the passing of a truly great lady.
I will always remember Dr. Nancy's great sense of humour. My sincere condolences to her family.

I have known Dr. Nancy Maguire since 1963 since being hired by her husband Derek in the early days when I was learning the ropes as a young lawyer. Both Nancy and Derek were to become lifelong friends of my family. Nancy was a very accomplished lady whose record as a Doctor, supportive wife and soulmate of Derek, and guiding light to her family was truly remarkable. She was compassionate, empathetic and generous, and loved the art of living. It was a life of achievement and a life well-lived.
One of the friendliest person I encountered in our hiking club... Last time I talked to her was in April 9, 2020 when I came back from India. We talked about Covid when Alberta had no lock down..
. I will miss her....Mike Sheth of Fifth dimension.

My sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Dr. Maguire. She was such an amazing doctor and just an all around amazing person. The amount of love, care and support she had towards my kids, my husband and myself truly made her feel more like a family member than a doctor. We love and will miss you Dr. Maguire.
