Obituary of Rosetta (Rose) Mildred THOMPSON (nee Hayes)

May 27, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Rosetta (Rose) Mildred Thompson (nee Hayes) passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the age of 92. Rose was a loving mother, grandmother and G.G. to her two great-grandchildren.  

Mom was happiest when being around her family and one of her greatest joys was cooking for them. One of her greatest wishes in raising her children was ensuring that they were close to her extended family, especially her cousins, Vernice Saunders, Marj Gingera, Joan Armstead and Vi Gardener. 

Rose will be greatly missed by her family, immediate and extended, her Church family who were important to her, and her many friends that she made throughout her 92 years. 

She is survived by her children, Sandra Bailey (Laurie), Kenneth Thompson, Dennette Sokvitne (Dwain); her grandchildren, Roshaud Woody, Rodney Bailey (Katharine), Gillian Ranger (DJ), Nathan Singh; her great-grandchildren, Quintyn Bailey and Renee Ranger; and her stepbrothers, Ronnie Carothers and Sidney Carothers.

Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ernie Thompson, son Rodney (in infancy), daughter Loretta Thompson-Woody; her parents Jasper and Grace Hayes; stepmother Pearl Carothers; her two brothers, three sisters, plus many of her extended family members.
