Condolences
Marjorie was a member of our Board and provided accompaniment to the anthems at our luncheons for many years.
In addition, she entertained us with her piano stylings before each luncheon. Marjorie carefully chose a medley of pieces to complement the theme and topic of each month’s guest speaker, and her contributions through the years were truly appreciated. We extend our sincere condolences to Marjorie’s family.

My deepest sympathy to all the family. I have many special memories of Marjorie and enjoying listening to her musical selections every month for many years at the Women’s Canadian Club . Shirley Handel
So many beautiful memories of singing with Marjorie in Calgary Opera. She will be forever in my heart!
My deep condolences to Marjorie's family. I remember Marjorie as a great pianist and avid pioneer with debut Opera., for which I was Marketing Director for awhile. She was a vivacious personality and very involved and dedicated to the music world in Calgary. She also had a great sense of both humour and responsibility. We will surely miss her. Thank you for all you did Marjorie.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Marjory's passing. I first met her as a young professor in the then Department and I was always impressed by her kindness, by the obvious care she took with her work as our Librarian, and with her commitment to the welfare of the students. After her retirement from the University, I often saw her at concerts and it was always a great pleasure to catch up with all the she was doing. I offer my condolences to her family. It is a deep loss.
My heartfelt condolences to the family. I knew Marjorie from my time at Calgary Opera & Debut Opera, and she was a truly vivacious human being - full to the brim with musical talent and her love of music. Marjorie had an amazing ear, and she was able to play something that she had only heard once on the piano (in the key of C major). I remember how her face lit up when she played on the piano and a group of people would gather around to sing along. I am so grateful for knowing this beautiful person and being inspired by her gift of music!

Condolences to the family, thoughts and prayers are with you. I worked with Calgary Opera for 23 years as Executive Assistant and had the pleasure of knowing Marjorie. She was a wonderful person sharing her love and joy of music and always willing to help out. She will be greatly missed.
Condolences to all of Marjorie's family and heartfelt thoughts are with you:
I’ve known Marj (as she insisted I address her) since the mid-1970s when she was the U of C Music Dept.
Librarian while I was a student there – seeing her almost daily throughout my Bachelor’s degree
and frequently ever since when she attended Calgary Philharmonic, Calgary Opera, as well as The Festival Chorus.
She was always especially proud of what the Chorus was managing to achieve as someone who
had sung with two of our previous directors, Brian Trevor, and founding director John Searchfield -
having retired before I assumed the role in the early 1990s.
She never failed to keep in touch with U of C music alumni and I don’t know how she kept up all the multifarious and multitudinous relationships as she seemed to know what everyone was doing all the time. I've an uncountable number of memories of seeing her at Calgary concerts and productions over many decades and her warm appreciation and avid participation.
Her passing is an immense loss and her selfless historic contributions to the classical musical life of Calgary will be sorely missed.
The Festival Chorus will look forward to honouring her within our organization and hope that Brenda and the family will not hesitate to contact us about a suitable tribute - artisticdirector@thefestivalchorus.com

To All Marjorie's Family
Sending you all my deepest sympathy on the passing of your Mom, Grandmother and Aunt
I just heard today about Marjorie's passing. I was a volunteer at Agape same time as Bruce and Her were there. She always came to play beautiful piano music anytime we had events. Everyone just loved her and her music. I would imagine she is already playing music in Heaven! Big hugs, Mo Ramage
