Obituary of Marv SCHMALTZ

May 31, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Marv Schmaltz, beloved husband of Marj Schmaltz (nee Selzler), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at the age of 85 years.

Marv was born in Beiseker, AB, on April 18, 1936. After graduating from high school, he moved to Calgary, where he worked in the automotive industry and graduated as an Automotive Technician in 1958. 

Besides his loving wife Marj of sixty-eight years, Marv is survived by his children, Colleen Erickson, Rick Schmaltz, and Gwen Gretz; three grandchildren, Ashley Schmaltz (Kyle Bigras), Tarryn Gretz, and Sarah Gretz; and one great-granddaughter Sawyer Bigras. Marv was predeceased by two daughters-in-law, Mary Schmaltz and Wendy Schmaltz; two granddaughters, Victoria and Elizabeth,  one brother, and two sisters.

A Private Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to join Mr. Schmaltz’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
