Obituary of Rosemary Eva Bates

Rosemary Bates (Winters) nee Rowe, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the age of 93 years.

 

Rosemary was a gifted pianist who shared her knowledge of music with family, friends and piano students over a span of sixty years.

 

Rosemary leaves behind her son, Owen Winters; daughters, Jude Winters, Nancy Winters (Bill McCormick) and Jocelyn Chikinda (Byron); six grandchildren, Joel (Angela) Welliver, Jennifer (Orrin) Ronald, Gord (Dez) Winters, Devyn, Nathan, and Jesse Chikinda; and eight great-grandchildren, Colby, Preston, Brayden, Logan, Aurora, Kira, Cooper and Joelle.

 

Rosemary was predeceased by her husband George (Tudy) Winters in May 1964, and her daughter-in-law, Jill Winters, in November 2018.

 

A Private Graveside Service is planned for this summer with a Celebration of Rosemary’s Life to be held in the early fall. In living memory of Rosemary Bates, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Park Memorial.
