Obituary of Norm GLOVER

January 27, 1972 – Grande Prairie, Alberta
June 4, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

With a heavy heart and teary eyes we share the sad news that Norm Glover passed away in a motorcycle accident west of Dewinton on the evening of Friday, June 4, 2021 at the age of 49 years.

The love of his life and soul mate Shannon Glover (Hartenberger) is devastated her Normi will not be coming home. Norm loved life and he gave more than one hundred percent to everything he did. His forty-nine short years of real living is more than many will have in their entire life time. He was kind, giving and caring and certainly knew how to entertain and have fun too! He lived up to the name “Stormin Normin”. Norm’s love of life was infectious and everyone who met him has a wonderful memory or story to share and cherish. Norm was very accomplished in his career. He was an innovative and inspirational leader as a Team Lead of Facilities, Engineers and Construction at Enerplus. His colleagues and employees admired his ability to balance his brilliance with his ability to be personable. There was no such thing as ‘just a job’ for Norm. He made an impact and will be missed. Norm loved being busy and had many hobbies and always a project on the go. He was a true outdoorsman and loved to camp and fish. He was always game to do anything and loved to be on the boat with a fishing rod and his four legged friend Bodhiman.

Besides his loving wife, Norm is survived by a large loving family, his dad and wife, Bob Glover and Pauline; his mom Ferne Albers whom he had a very special and loving relationship with and his dad Eddie; his loving and close brother Jeff Glover and partner Jess; and his special nephews, Joel Glover and Zak Fairhall and fiancée Courtney. Norm was an admired and adored son-in-law of Rudy and Donna Hartenberger; and unique brother-in-law to Ron, Greg and Shelly Hartenberger. He was a very special uncle to nephew Logan and nieces Amanda and Ashley Hartenberger. Norm also is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the family and he loved each and every one of them.

For all of you who had the opportunity to meet Norm and Shannon you know how much they loved each other. He thrived on being challenged and learning new things and loved to share his knowledge with all kids big and small. Norm would not want us to mourn him so a Celebration of Norm’s incredible life will be held at a later date.
