Margo BONNEAU-MILLER (nee Soucy)

Obituary of Margo Louise BONNEAU-MILLER (nee Soucy)

December 6, 1930 - Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan
May 23, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep sadness that we announce the recent and sudden passing of our mother, Margo Louise Bonneau-Miller who passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the age of 90 years.  Margo left the world as she lived it, with strength, dignity, and grace.

Margo was born and raised on a family farm near Gravelbourg, SK.  She and her sister Thérèse spent their school years boarding at the Gravelbourg convent.  After high school, she began working as a linotype operator for the Gravelbourg Star and later the Moose Jaw Times-Herald.

Margo married in l953 and became a stay at home mother.  She returned to the workforce once her children were on their way to adulthood.  In l974 she started working in retail, as manager of Woolco’s children’s department in Regina.  She also spent time working as an aide for the disabled.

Margo married Stan Miller in l991.  Margo and Stan enjoyed travelling.  They spent time in Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, England, and Cypress.  When they both retired, Margo and Stan moved to Calgary.  They enjoyed spending their winters in the US, mostly in California and Utah.  During many summers they journeyed to Banff where they particularly loved to camp, and took full advantage of biking and hiking the mountain trails.

Margo was also skilled in the art of tatting (lace making).  She crafted Christmas ornaments and bookmarks to boutiques in and around Calgary.

Margo was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  All who knew her were touched by her kindness and social spirit.

Margo lived a wholesome life.  She was proud that she was able to live independently to the end of her life.  She was a friendly, warm-hearted person who enjoyed socializing, and meeting new people.  She gave us all so much love, care and understanding.  Margo will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Margo is survived by her daughters Gabrielle, Camille (Armin); her son Roger; her granddaughter Caitlin; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and a countless number of friends.  Margo will be dearly missed by all those she left behind.

Margo was predeceased by her beloved husband Stan, her parents, Lydia and Philippe Soucy; her sister Thérèse Huel; her brother Gérard, and her son-in-law Brian Gordon.

A special thanks to the staff at the Rockyview General Hospital, Unit 74, for all their care and compassion.
