Obituary of Gloria Jean LITTLE LIGHT

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Gloria Little Light of Tsuut'ina Nation announces her passing on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the age of 73 years.

Gloria was a kind, humble, loving, and caring lady with a great sense of humour that brought joy and smiles to everyone. She never turned anyone away and treated all equally.

Gloria embraced her Tsuut'ina culture and people. She was crowned the first Stampede Indian Princess amongst numerous rodeo championships. She will always be remembered for her unconditional love and lived life to the fullest. Gloria is survived by her children, Sonny (Tamara), Kim (Peter), Clayton, and Carrie (Darcy); her sisters, Josephine (Bunny) Big Plume, Betty Big Plume (Jimmy), and Beverly Meguinis (Leeroy); brother Frank Little Light (Heather); and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends; as well as extended family and relatives, Big Plumes, Little Lights, Bulls, Cranes, Crowchilds, Labelles, Onespots, MistakenChief and Simons. Apologies to anyone we may have left out.

Gloria was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Dora Big Plume, Francis Little Light; sisters, Lena Crowchild, and Judi Big Plume; brothers, Fred Little Light, Bedford Little Light, and Ross Big Plume; and nephew Jordie Buffalo Big Plume.

Wake Services were held at the residence of Josephine “Bunny” Big Plume, 97 Weaselhead Rd SW, Tsuut’ina Nation, AB, on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 4:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be celebrated at Tsuut'ina Bullhead Hall on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Tsuut’ina Cemetery (Tsuut’ina Nation, AB). Drive-thru Feast will be held at Tsuut'ina Bullhead Hall (Tsuut’ina Nation, AB) immediately following the graveside.
