Condolences
James, Rose, Megan, Matthew Lecky
We're shocked and sad that Carolyn is gone. She was an wonderful neighbour who always had time for a visit over the fence while tending her garden. She generously shared her delicious dishes, most notably her borscht, cinnamon buns and apple crisp in appreciation for any help we were able to provide. We were fortunate to have Vince and Carolyn as our next door neighbours since moving to Calgary 24 years ago. Carolyn was like a Grandma to our children Megan and Matthew. She was always interested in how we were doing and we will miss her dearly. Rest in peace dear Carolyn.
We are devastated to learn of Auntie Carol's sudden passing. Auntie Carol was my Godmother and she was a big part of my life in my formative years. She lived with us for a period of time when I was young and she was like a big sister to me. I always looked up to her. She would often style my hair, pick out my clothes and let me wear her jewelry. I was a flower girl at her wedding and remember wearing daisies in my hair to match the daisies on the sparkling green flower girl dress that she had carefully selected. Auntie Carol was stylish, charismatic and so much fun to be around. She would always tell you what was on her mind and never sugar coat anything. When Kurt and I got married in Jamaica, we didn't expect many people to attend our wedding due to the distance and expense, but my Auntie Carol, together with my Auntie Lil, hopped on a plane and made it to our wedding. She told me that she wouldn't think of missing her God child's special day. Auntie Carol was a devout Catholic and we have arranged for a mass to be said for the repose of her soul. Kurt, Ryan and I offer our heartfelt condolences to Christine, Jim and Kailani at this difficult time. May you rest in peace in the presence of God Auntie Carol.

Again, I'm heartbroken by a loss of a dear sister. After you lose someone so special as Carolyn, I feel as if there is a hole in my heart that will remain forever. Memories fade over time, but my sister isn't a memory she's a part of me. I always remember Carolyn so full of life that you couldn't help but have a good time when you were with her.
.May you find peace in the hands of your Savior.
Dear Christine, Jim and Kailani
My deepest Condolences on the loss of your Mother, Mother-In-Law and Grandmother.
Carolyn was my Auntie WaWa (a name I gave her when I was just a toddler because I couldn’t pronounce Carol and the name stuck ) and she meant the world to me as she was always there for me. When she and Uncle Vince got married I was so excited and happy to be a Flower girl in their wedding. It was very special to me.
Whether it be her visiting our family in Toronto or I visiting with her in Calgary or our long telephone conversations. Our time spent together was always filled with warmth, fun and lots of laughter. My Mom, Auntie WaWa and I had many fun times together. Her words of love and advice were always taken to heart.
Auntie WaWa was the best Cook and Baker I have ever known and every year there for quite some time she would mail a complete “Ukrainian Christmas-in-a Box to my parents and I from Calgary to Toronto. She would lovingly cook and bake it all then freeze and ship it frozen to Toronto so it was thawed and ready to eat. It was the hi-light of our Christmas.
This precious box of food was filled with all sorts of traditional Ukrainian dishes from Borscht and Head Cheese for my Dad, Khrusties for my Mom, Perogies, Pyrizhkies which were my all time favourite and I would share sparingly with the rest of my family. This box also included many baked goodies and beautiful gifts.
My Aunt WaWa was the best Auntie ever and I will cherish all the beautiful memories I have of her.
She is now reunited with Uncle Vince and may she Rest in Peace
Love Forever and Always
Bye Bye for Now

Our deepest Condolences to Christine, Jim and Kailani in your time of sorrow.
I will always love and remember Auntie Carol.
She was always beautifully dressed, she had style both in her fashion and home decor.
She was a wonderful cook and gardener. Her cabbage rolls were the best.
She had the greatest sense of humour. and when she laughed it was heartfelt.
She was a special Auntie.
May she Rest in Peace
Love Always
Lisa and Bert Tarko (Niece)
