Obituary of Jean Shirley KUFELDT

January 24, 1936 – Turtleford, Saskatchewan

June 24, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing on Thursday, June 24, 2021 of Jean Kufeldt at the age of 85 years. After battling Alzheimer’s for the past fifteen years, it is definitely time for Jean to rest. 

While her children were growing up Jean was a devoted homemaker and mother.  Once the kids hit high school, Jean started her second career as a successful real estate agent, obtaining top ten realtor status within her Calgary office multiple times during her career. For everyone that knew her, Jean was fierce, funny, determined and one of the kindest, most generous and caring friends a person could have.  She had a passion for entertaining and loved nothing better than to prepare a fabulous meal for family and friends – often while at the same time juggling her many real estate clients. Later in life, Jean took to golfing, enjoying golf games with Herb and friends at Highwood Golf Club where she was a member and on winter vacations with Herb in Cabo San Lucas.  Never one to be side tracked by life’s obstacles whether things were going smoothly or sometimes not so smoothly, you were likely to be asked by Jean her favorite question – “Are we having fun yet?”  Jean will be dearly missed.

Jean will be greatly missed and remembered by her husband of sixty-five years Herb, and their two children, Kent (Jan) and Carmen (Bill); and their four grandchildren, Payton, Piper, Tyler and Tessa.
