Obituary of Boris DOMAZET

November 10, 1940 – Dolac (Travnik), Bosnia-Herzegovina, Yugoslavia
July 6, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Boris Domazet, beloved husband of Nicole Lucinda Domazet (nee Bordeleau) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at the age of 80 years, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

Boris was born in Dolac (Travnik), Bosnia-Herzegovina (ex-Yugoslavia) on November 10, 1940. Boris completed religious and philosophy studies, mastered several languages and initially planned on becoming a Franciscan monk. He realized this was not the life for him and being the dreamer that he was, immigrated to Canada in 1968 and met his wife Nicole in Montreal in 1969.  He continued to dream of a better life and made the bold decision to “go west” and moved his family to Calgary in 1979. Boris explored various fields of study and professions, but mostly enjoyed a long and successful career in commercial and residential real estate. Those who knew him will remember Boris as a man who always liked to take charge. He had a passion for life and travel, enjoyed good food and conversation and sharing “his way” with those he loved.

Boris is survived by his loving wife Nicole, his daughter Natacha (Todd Welsh), son Vincent (Becki McLean), and his two granddaughters, Jacqueline and Caragana. Boris also leaves behind extended family throughout Quebec, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Australia. He was predeceased by his father Ivo Domazet, mother Ana Curcic, and brothers, Vlado and Tihomir.

“Say not in grief ‘he is no more’, but in thankfulness that he was…”
