Obituary of Sharon Jane DAVIS

DAVIS, Sharon Jane
April 18, 1950 - June 26, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sharon Davis, on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the age of 71 years.

Sharon was born in Calgary, AB to Harry and Mollie (Pierce) Hamilton.

Sharon was adored by everyone who knew her. She made numerous friends through her lifelong love of horses, carriage driving, antiques and making beautiful music.  This love of animals—and especially of horses—started when Sharon’s family visited the homestead in Square Butte on weekends and through the summers of her childhood. Fond memories were made there and also while riding in the family class at the Millarville Fair. In later years, Sharon was introduced to carriage driving in Priddis and she was hooked!

Her love of music was planted at an early age. It grew when Sharon and her three sisters joined the Calgary Junior Philharmonic as young girls and continued into adulthood, through various bands and with talented friends. While she was young, the family spent a year travelling through England, Europe and Scotland. They brought their music with them, real ambassadors for western Canada in their western garb, including their white Stetsons.

Sharon could play the violin with such tone and feeling, that it would bring tears to your eyes. Her rendition of ‘Danny Boy’ most comes to mind. She also had the singing voice of an angel and much joy and laughter was to be had during her years spent with The Trio.

Sharon was able to help so many through her work at FCSS in her early years and connect with many more later through her work at Spruce Meadows, time spent with the Nisi’s and the Swendson’s, along with TD Equine, to mention just a few of her more recent adventures.

Sharon had a truly beautiful soul. She was always the one to go to for help and understanding.  No matter where she was, what she was doing or what was happening in her life she took the time to listen, give advice and make everyone she knew, somehow feel special. Sharon, you will be eternally missed by us all.

She will be deeply missed by her sisters, Pat Brogden and Mary Roy; step-son Shayne Davis, grandchildren, Zac and Raylee; and their mother Lori, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Friends old and new were made through Sharon’s lifelong love of horses, carriage driving, antiques and making music.

Sharon was predeceased by her mother and father, Harry and Mollie (nee Pierce) Hamilton, her step-mother Eileen (nee Campbell) Hamilton and very recently, by her sister Gwen Hamilton.
