Obituary of John Joseph MATYJANKA

July 23, 1933 - Saskatchewan          

July 10, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta   

John Joseph Matyjanka, beloved husband of Madeline Matyjanka (nee Hehn) passed away on Saturday July 10, 2021 at the age of 87 years old.

John was born on his family’s homestead in Saskatchewan on July 23, 1933.  He met Madeline in Saskatchewan and they were married June 1, 1957. They had just celebrated sixty-four years of marriage this year. They lived and worked in the North Okanagan for a number of years before retiring to the Calgary area in 1997.

John was a heavy duty mechanic who worked in the oil and agriculture industries. He loved restoring old machinery as well as music. He enjoyed playing his guitar and playing his accordion.

Besides his loving wife, Madeline, John is survived by his three sons, Gordon (Carolyn) of Vernon, BC, Ron of Calgary, AB, and David (Nicole) of Okotoks, AB; as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
