Randolph (Randy) NODWELL

Obituary of Randolph (Randy) Blair NODWELL

April 28, 1963 – Sussex, New Brunswick

July 2, 2021 – Enderby, British Columbia

Randolph (Randy) Blair Nodwell, beloved husband of Charlene Nodwell, of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 2, 2021 at the age of 58 years.

Randy was born in Sussex, NB. Throughout his life, Randy worked in many different fields, from cutting wood as a young man, to working as a Class 1 truck driver. He worked in many provinces and eventually made his way to Calgary where he met and fell in love with Charlene.

Randy loved his wife Charlene, his son Randy Jr. and all his dogs with great passion. He was very protective of them all.

Randy enjoyed driving, both recreationally and professionally. He also loved to tinker around, fixing motorcycles or just about anything that appeared to be in need of repair. He felt that old things deserved a second chance. His garage is a testament to this.

Randy loved the ocean, and his trips to Cancun so much so that this is where Randy and Charlene spent their honeymoon in February 2019. Laying on the sandy white beaches and playing in the ocean were top on his list of great vacations especially when drink service was included.

Those who knew Randy understood his deep passion and commitment towards family, friends and the world around him. He will be remembered for his loud laughter, love of life, and the love of his pets “the critters,” and for always believing that failure is not an option.

To the living, I am gone,

To the sorrowful, I will never return,

To the angry, I was cheated,

But to the happy, I am at peace,

And to the faithful, I have never left.

I cannot speak, but I can listen,

I cannot be seen, but I can be heard,

So as you stand upon a shore gazing at a beautiful sea,

As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity,

Remember me.

Remember me in your heart,

Your thoughts and your memories,

Of the times we loved,

The times we cried,

The times we fought,

The times we laughed.

For if you always think of me, I will never have gone.

Besides his loving wife Charlene, Randy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Randy Dale Nodwell (Crystallee), stepdaughter and son-in-law, Miranda (Tom) Cuzzani, grandchildren, Ethan and Henry Cuzzani of Calgary, AB. He is also survived by his three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Carl (Debbie) Nodwell of MB, James (Angela) Nodwell of NB, Jason Swereda of AB; sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly (Ivan) Friesen of MB; stepsisters and brother-in-law, Debbie Norman of MB, and Monique (Darren) Lee of AB; his dogs, Mr. Beazley and Tank; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and friends across Canada.

Randy was predeceased by his parents, Jean Lorraine MacDonald and Carl Emery Nodwell; brothers, Brian Nodwell, Kirk Swereda; and pets, Mikey, Littler, Lucy and Rosie.
