Obituary of Debra Louise HENDERSON (nee Bosinski)

September 22, 1960 – Grand Forks, British Columbia

March 16, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Debra Louise Henderson was a loving wife, mother, and dear friend to many. She left this world after a brave fight with cancer on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the age of 60 years.

Debra was born on September 22, 1960, to Georgina and Gerhard Bosinski. Debra spent much of her youth in Christina Lake, BC, before seeing opportunities for her and her young daughter Jocelyn in the big city of Calgary, AB, in 1986. In Calgary, Debra met and married Mark Henderson, forming a family of three. Always ambitious and following her dreams whenever possible, Debra worked nights as a cashier at Safeway, while advancing her education at secretarial school.

Sadly, Mark passed suddenly in 2008, leaving Debra and Jocelyn to grapple with grief in every five-star mountain-view resort they could find (that also took dogs). Through it all she pushed forward with grace, furthering her career in HR and eventually retiring as a senior manager and company shareholder. In her retirement, Debra found a deep and profound love with Stephane Soucy, spending many wonderful years together travelling the world. They eventually split their time between Calgary and Tampa Florida, keeping busy with golfing, and their beloved Rottweiler Thor.

A Memorial Service will be held by Debra's Family (55 Mahogany Park S.E., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m., with light refreshments served.
