Obituary of Hunter MAYFIELD

September 14, 2003 – Calgary, Alberta

July 17, 2021 – Sundre, Alberta

Hunter Mayfield, beloved son and brother, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the age of 17 years. Even though Hunter was taken from us much too early, he lived his life to the fullest every single day and made everyone in his life feel so incredibly loved.

Hunter was born on September 14, 2003, in Calgary to his parents Trampas and Mindy Mayfield, and was the oldest of his siblings, Emily (15), Forrest (13), and Valen (11). Hunter loved his family and was known for being incredibly genuine, positive, and caring by all who knew him.

Like his dad, he had a great love for the outdoors and spent most of his free time hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing. He also loved martial arts, cars, football, weight lifting, and serving in his church. He had a deep love and respect for his mom, and like her, he was very nurturing and kind.

A few weeks before his passing, Hunter had just graduated from Robert Thirsk High School, where he played on the football team. After his graduation, he had big plans to study automotive and eventually become a police officer.

Hunter is survived by his parents, siblings; grandparents, Marsha and Murray Lott, and Becky and Leslie Mayfield; great-grandparents Beth and Lyman Hall; aunts and uncles, cousins, and many great friends. Though we are devastated by this loss and know that we will feel the absence of Hunter forever, the belief in eternal families provides some consolation and hope that we will be united with him one day.

He will be infinitely missed by all, but he leaves behind a legacy of love and seventeen years of incredible memories, which will never be forgotten. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed here.

A Funeral Service will be held in his honour on Friday, July 23, 2021, at the West Stake Centre of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (6560 Silver Spring Crescent NW, Calgary, AB) at 11:00 a.m. All are invited to attend the funeral service to show their love and support for Hunter.
