December 10, 1924 - Windsor, Ontario
July 25, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta
With gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Joyce Jenkins on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the age of 96 years
Joyce was born in Windsor, ON, on December 10, 1924. She served as a WREN in Halifax before relocating to Calgary. She was an avid gardener, amazing cook, beautiful knitter, passionate reader and enjoyed many types of outdoor activities, with a great love for golf. She was grateful for the friendship and support of her neighbours. Ever organized and pragmatic, she had written her own obituary, which we include here.
Having lived a long and healthy life, Joyce left us to join her two sons who predeceased her, Doug in 2007 and Rick in 2008. Joyce was also predeceased by her sister Janet McPherson, brother-in-law George McPherson, and nephew Ted. Joyce leaves behind her much loved niece Pamela (Mike) Stevenson, great-niece Sarah Jane and daughter-in-law Penny Pomeroy.
At Joyce’s request, no formal funeral service will be held. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed here. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Rd.
