Margaret REED (nee Pomrenke)

Obituary of Margaret "Glennie" REED (nee Pomrenke)

June 22, 1936 - North Assiniboia, Saskatchewan
July 25, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

Glennie Reed of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the age of 85 years.

Margaret was born in Assiniboia, SK. She worked for Alberta Government Telephones (AGT), Gulf Oil Canada, and Clover Leaf Cheese. Margaret enjoyed Square dancing, playing the organ and piano, singing, needlepoint and resin rock art in her younger years and in her older years, she took up diamond dotz crafting, pencil crayon colouring, and word puzzles. She was passionate about playing the organ and piano for others. Her most memorable vacation was Las Vegas in her twenties and a cruise to Hawaii in her sixties. Margaret will be most remembered for her dirty jokes, infectious laugh, and curlers with a scarf.
Margaret’s favorite quote was,

The Day God Took You Home
A million times
I've needed you.
A million times I've cried,
If love alone could have saved you,
You never would have died.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place,
No one else can ever fill.
It broke my heart to lose you,
But you didn't go alone.
Part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.
Quote: The day which we fear as our last is but the birthday of eternity.

-Lucius Annaeus Seneca
