Obituary of Arve Grey WILKINSON

February 22, 1920 – Instow, Saskatchewan
July 29, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with both sadness and relief we announce the passing of our dear father, Arve Grey Wilkinson on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the age of 101 years. His leave-taking was fraught with challenges and not at all what we would have wished for him. Despite this, we rest assured he is now safe in the arms of Jesus and in the company of his loving family members who went on before him. 

Arve had a full life, living beyond 101 years. He was a son, brother, husband, and father, being patriarch to five generations. He was generous, wise, and caring to all he knew and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his sister Mildred Engle, six of his seven children, 18 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 29 great-great-grandchildren. Arve was predeceased by his brother Velvie, father Carl, and mother Irena Wilkinson, his sister Vera Bonnett, granddaughter Debbie, wife Emma, and son Roderick Wilkinson, and son-in-law Lloyd Dame. We know it was a grand reunion as he entered the gates of heaven. 

There will be a public viewing at McInnis and Holloway Eastside Memorial, (5388 Memorial Dr. N.E.) on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be conducted via Zoom on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. MDT.
