Obituary of Ronald (Ron) David JONES

Ronald Jones of Calgary, AB passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the age of 78 years.

Throughout his career, Ron spent many years as a Landman in the Oil and Gas Industry and was a Manager of the Royal Canadian Legion. He had been retired for a number of years and enjoyed spending time with his family, enjoying many trips to tropical destinations and he loved the mountains. Over the years he enjoyed coaching minor hockey teams and high school football teams; he also volunteered as a baseball umpire. Ron loved cheering on his Calgary Flames, Calgary Stampeders and the Toronto Blue Jays.  

Ron enjoyed listening to classic country music, rodeos, watching movies, and eating out at Calgary’s restaurants. He was interested in thoroughbred horse racing and even stood in the winner’s circle with his horse Eric’s Blue.

Ron took great joy in every one of his children. He leaves to mourn his best friend and ex-wife, Lorna, his children, Cindy (Darin), Ronald (Kato), Clint, Amanda, Clay, Melinda, Nicole (Rick), and Cody; thirteen grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Ron also leaves to mourn his brother Tom, sister Sandra (Blue) and brother Larry; as well as his newly discovered sisters, Rachel Hudson and Nancy Nyeste. He was predeceased by his grandson Dustin, his mother Dorothy Jones (nee Zold), father Ira Jones, biological father Ralph Pflueger and his brother Richard Pfleuger.  

Ron will be deeply missed!  Thanks to all of his friends and family who shared in his life. He will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His children and grandchildren have numerous fond memories and stories to share and he will be lovingly remembered by all.
