Obituary of Lori Michelle Acoby

“Niiganedamook”

(Leader of Thunderbirds)

May 3, 1973 – Winnipeg, Manitoba

August 3, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Lori Acoby, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at the age of 48 years. She died of a broken heart, surrounded by her son and sister, who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Actress, volunteer firefighter and a great mother, sister, aunty, friend to everyone she ever met. Lori was the greatest mother to all children. She missed her Sylvester and Starr, who passed in recent years, so much, she thought of them night and day. A mother never gets over losing her child. Lori was trying to get over the loss of two children. She had to live with that pain every single day.

Lori leaves behind her only son, Matthew, who understands that he had his time with her. He knows that it is Sylvester’s and Starr’s time with her now. They are making up for all the time that was taken away. Lori was so kind, that she took into her home and heart many others and treated them like her own children.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Lori. She accepted everyone, no matter who or where they were on their life journey. She loved all who crossed her path and was always reaching down and lifting people up. Lori believed in being strong, being brave, loving hard and true, and living with nothing to lose.

Lori is survived by her mother Lorraine Acoby, her father Peter Yellowquill, her eldest son Matthew Asa Hall, brothers, Chris Bose, Chad Harry, and Daniel Harry; sisters, Rainbow Acoby, Kathryne Harry; granddaughter Waniyedu-Woyan Makade Mukwa (Winter Flower), and countless friends and relatives.
