When he returned home Cayley worked alongside his father in ranching. He also held several different types of jobs on the Tsuu T’ina Nation.

One of Cayley's greatest assets was his humor. Those that knew him knew of his contagious laughter and loved it. Cayley would greet you with a big smile and handshake and ask “how are you doing?” He was a very generous person when people came to visit he never hesitated to feed them. Cayley was well known for his willingness to help out, when there was work to be done he would jump up and help without being asked. Another asset Cayley shared with family and friends was his kindness. He was not shy to say “I love you”, with a sincere heart.
