Condolences
To Josh and Jake and the entire Morrissey family, I am saddened by the loss of your dad.
Josh and Jake, if you read this, a hug from me to both of you specifically.
I wanted to share with you an interview I did with your dad at the Memorial Cup in Quebec City in 2015. He was so proud of you guys,
I am glad you brought him so much joy, Josh and Jake, and that he was able to return the favour with a listening ear and advice.

I too lost my dad to cancer in 2020. We walk together in grief for having lost great men in our lives.
Our condolences to Tom's family. We met Tom through the hockey fraternity and his passion for helping young people learn and grow was evident with his D Rules Hockey camps. Tom was very proud of Josh and Jake but he was not boastful of their accomplishments. Tom would always ask our boys how they were doing and offered words of encouragement and advice. In getting to know Tom and how he handled himself, he made us better hockey parents and for that, we are grateful. Tom will be missed.

Josh and Jake, we were clients of Tom’s. Over the years we have had several financial planners but until we met your dad, Tom, we really never had had a good advisor. Tom blew the bar out of the water. Maybe it was his former career of being a wonderful educator but he taught us how to manage our finances, with his assistance of course, like no one before him. He cared a lot and in turn we trusted him explicitly. He helped us both retire, with confidence. Tom was a man dedicated to life, his family, his friends, his clients and making the world a better place, better than he had found it. He was extremely proud of you Josh and your hockey career but equally proud of you Jake on your decision to become a doctor. I hope you both understand that was the unique quality about your Dad, he shared his experiences and proudly talked about your triumphs that he was so proud of. He made us comfortable because he was truly interested in us and our family too. He loved you unconditionally- true love. We hope you will be able to move forward and like an old comfortable quilt wrap yourselves in the beautiful memories you both have of your honourable, courageous father.
To Dauna, he spoke of you often too, always with warm sentiments. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this incredibly difficult time.
To Ernie, Chris, Lisa and Emily, the wonderful staff and Tom’s co-workers at Canaccord we thank you for your diligence during this most difficult time. We think we can all agree, there will never be another person as memorable as Tom Morrissey. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your staff as you navigate a new pathway at Canaccord.
We are sorry we could not attend the service for Tom, today but our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and co-workers. Never a finer gentleman have we met, than Tom Morrissey. RIP - Tom.
Condolences to Tom's family. Looking forward to seeing Josh, Jake and Bev at Magaguadavic Lake next trip to N.B.
My condolences to Tom’s family . I first met Tom when we worked at Woodward’s likely 45-50 years ago , we played hockey together , flag football with and against each other and I do remember Tom absolutely rocking me on a kick off return , good memories for sure. Over the years we did see each other occasionally and I know he will be missed. Both of us are Sask boys , I grew up in Balcarres and I know how proud Tom was of his boys. RIP Tom
Tom was as an exceptional teacher and coach. His passion, dedication, and pursuit of excellence in everything he did, inspired so many fortunate enough to be in his presence. I taught PE, Biology, and coached Boys Volleyball in my first years of teaching, at the same time as Tom was at Father Lacombe. I remember what an amazing athlete he was and how passionate he was about sports and fitness. We were colleagues and friends, sharing a love of coaching and athletics. Tom valued each student, always guiding, encouraging, and motivating each one to achieve their potential. He was loved and respected by his students at Father Lacombe and left a lasting impression on them. I have fond memories of Tom's sense of humor and can still hear his awesome laugh! Sending heartfelt condolences and prayers to his two sons and loved ones.
Rest in Peace my friend.
Mr. Morrissey was my TA and Biology 10, 20 and 30 Teacher at Father Lacombe 1981-1984. He was my favorite teacher in High School, and one of my best teachers for sure. He used to make me feel "seen" and always treated me like I was important. For a person who didn't have a lot of self confidence, he helped me to believe in myself. When he saw me in the hallway at school, he would call out and say, "Pamela...my famous TA!" I have only wonderful memories of Mr. Morrissey and loved watching him coach our basketball teams! He will be greatly missed. He left us too soon. Sending my deepest condolences to his two sons and loved ones. Rest in Peace Mr. Morrissey and thank you for being MY famous TA!
Tom played a special role in all our lives as coach, mentor and finally as my advisor. Josh and Jake, our deepest condolences for your loss. Your dad was a really great man and we will miss him dearly!
I'm shocked by this very sad news.
Tom has been a great friend and brother for 40 years-we started our teaching and coaching careers at Father Lacombe and both ended up in the Wealth Management Business.
We played every sport together until I moved back east, but stayed connected all these years.
I will miss him.
My sincere condolences to Jake, Josh, Bev and all Tom's extended family.
I wish I could be there on Sunday, but it's not possible.
Rest in Peace Buddy.
Tom was a coaching colleague at Father Lacombe High School. He was an exceptional coach and teacher. His passion was infectious. He made an impression with everyone that helped them do whatever they were doing with care and compassion. My heartfelt condolences to his family. Rest In Peace my friend
To Jake & Josh –
While I never had the opportunity to meet your Dad, your obituary in his honour gives me a good sense of the man and a life well lived. It conveys a rich family life packed with love and wonderful moments, in particular over your shared passion for sports. Having lost both my parents in recent years, and in similar circumstances, I understand the color, weight and enormity of your loss. It is both unfathomable and disorienting to lose a “giant” in our lives. May you find comfort in all the great memories you have of your Dad, in all the love and support that is being sent your way from family and friends -- and most importantly, in his legacy that now carries on through the two of you.
With my deepest sympathies,
(Danik & Jake’s “Auntie”) Lisa Baiton, Toronto
I was shocked and saddened to hear of this great loss. Tom was my biology teacher at Father Lacombe HS back in the early 80’s. He was such a great presence in the class, the gymnasium and the cafeteria. He had an infectious spirit and you just felt happy being around him. Tom Morrissey is one of my fondest memories of high school.
My prayers go out to his family during these sorrowful times
My heartfelt condolences to Jake and Josh, Dauna and all the Morrissey family. Tom has been a helpful account manager, prudent advisor and dear friend for twenty years (this year is 20). Grieving to me, I know that his passing will be a shock to many for now and for some time to come. Our regular visits always included talk of family events, faith, goals and aspirations that is rare in financial circles, for which I will always be grateful. Thanks Tom- you have been a brother.
