I was a young reporter at the Calgary Albertan and met Mary Alice and her friend Charlotte (I think) who were involved in the Welfare Rights Organization.

Mary was idealistic and tireless in trying to right wrongs and to improve the life of people.

She was also funny, smart and enjoyed a good laugh.

I was so fortunate to have met Mary Alice and I thought about her often. A shining light to all who knew her.

I worked mary at phils restaurants for many years. She was always kind, loving and told it how it is. She made each of my 3 girls a blanket. She was very talented. Mary will be missed .
