Condolences
Dear Margie and family,
I was so saddened to hear of Forbes' death. I will remember him with fondness as a gentle, kind, sensitive man with a keen sense of humour and an unquenchable curiousity about the people he met. He never failed to ask about my girls and always had a story to tell. We shared the "enviable" distinction of being the 2 people at Christ Church Calgary who had been Wardens twice - no mean feat! I admired his wisdom, his calm under pressure and his discerning eye. His illness can't have been easy to deal with, for him or for you, but you both handled it with such grace, respect and dignity. Please accept my condolences, on behalf of myself and my family.

Dear Mrs. Newman, Peter, Andrew and all of Forbes' Family,
Please accept our deepest condolences. I have such fond memories growing up with Peter in your house and how kind your entire family was to me and all of Pete's friends. I've always admired how strong a family you all are and am so appreciative to have known Forbes and to have grown up with Pete.
Our entire Turnbull family is thinking of you all and are here for you in any way you need.
Sincerely,
Tyler and Jennifer
Dear Margie and all of Forbes' Family
Please accept my deepest sympathy on your loss of dear Forbes. He was a faithful prince whom I admired and highly respected for all the years I knew him from Christ Church. He will be dearly missed.
Margie.....there is a very special place reserved for you in heaven for all the years you cared for Forbes as his health deteriorated. I watched you year after year - loading him into and out of your van, and knew how utterly exhausting it was from the years I did the same for Vic. Please allow yourself all the time you need to rest now.
Thank you for all the years of beautiful music you both gave to us at Christ Church over the years.
And now.....Rest in Peace dear Forbes and Sing with the Angels.
With my love,
Marion Rogers
I am so sorry to read of Forbes’ death. I am a childhood friend from Cartwright days, many hours of playing monopoly, jam can curling in the winter on a small sheet of ice he made in his front yard, sleep overs in his tent, sitting in the living room while he played the piano were all part of growing up with Forbes. As he was an only child I was the recipient of lots of hand me down clothes, always in excellent condition. When I moved from Cartwright we lost contact but the memories of those days live on. Forbes was always a kind and giving friend. I am sorry for your loss.
Margie and Family -
We are so sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
The Barlow Family
We met Forbes in 1999 when Andrew began dating our daughter, Jordi. From the first meeting, we enjoyed Forbes sense of humour, brilliant wit, warmth, honesty and zest for life. We have always Admired how he enthusiastically supported Jordi and Andrew in their Education, marriage, careers and the birth of Robson and Holly. We shared many great visits just talking about the children (Both big and small) and recently swapping stories about the grandchildren’s little personalities and antics. It was always evident how much they loved him and often talked about their “Papa”. Even Holly, just over a year old would repeat his name over and over. He leaves a family who loved him but will always remember what a great person he was and cherish the memories that they shared. Our hearts go out to Margie as she was such a faithful, patient and loving partner to Forbes, especially since his health began to fail. We will miss his sparkling personality and warm heart.
Margie,
I am so sorry for your loss. Sending sincere sympathy and prayers to you and your family.

Growing up with Forbes' eldest, Andrew, I spent countless days at the Newman's home. From my earliest memories in playschool to my most recent opportunity to chat with him a few summers ago, Forbes was always incredibly warm, patient and genuine. I'm grateful to have known him, for all the wonderful memories, and for him and Margie raising one of my best friends. Forbes' wonderful character lives on through his beautiful family.
I enjoyed spending time with Forbes over the years. As fellow Manitobans who graduated from United College/ University of Winnipeg with an interest in history, as well as Anglicans, we had some great discussions. Forbes invited me to join the board of Woods Homes which he ably chaired and to participate in a legal conference which he also ably chaired. He was a good friend and will be fondly remembered.
