Obituary of Andre Algernon Boodhan

June 11, 1960 – Trinidad, West Indies
August 12, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Andre Algernon Boodhan, beloved son of Paula Boodhan and the late Lincoln Boodhan, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday August 12, 2021 at the age of 61 years.

Andre was born in Trinidad, West Indies on June 11, 1960. He immigrated to Canada with his family in 1969.  Andre had a “childlike spirit.”  His mother stated that he had a very loving spirit. He was gentle and kind to others. He was willing to help those in need. Andre was a very loving and giving soul. He loved spending time with his family. He had a passion for boxing and weight lifting. He enjoyed long walks on Vancouver, BC beaches. There he could listen to the waves and find absolute peace. He had a lot of sayings: his favorite was ‘CHILLAXING AND WHAT DOING.’

Beside his wonderful and loving Ma, Paula, Andre is survived by his daughters, Aneesa, Nicole, Nadine, Natalie, Stephanie, and Antonia; and sons, Jerrone and Hakeem; twelve precious grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn (Donna) and Feroze (Fee) Mohammed.

A Funeral Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mr. Boodhan’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
