Our beloved friend, Jim
Our friendship with Jim goes back for so many, many years. Bob first met Jim in the summer of 1969 when he went into his first year of medical residency at the Calgary General Hospital. Jim was in his second year at the time and helped Bob with many residency challenges. Eventually they practiced in the same medical building, the Dalbrent Medical Center. Over the many years our families became close friends. We shared many wonderful memories together. We holidayed in Hawaii, Spain, Portugal, Morroco, Palm Springs and Las Vegas. We enjoyed golf trips together and cycling trips in France and Louisiana. Jim was a valued member of our gourmet dinner group and book club husbands. He was also our next t door neighbour in Varsity Estates for many years and a visit was never more than a holler away. We have so many treasured memories that have stretched over a lifetime. One memory sticks out in our minds. We were in New Orleans, having cycled there on a cycling tour. They were doing a movie of a New Orleans jazz funeral and needed extras to march in the procession. The first thing we knew, there was Jim leading the marching procession down the street, dancing and twirling an umbrella. He was the star of the parade! Jim was a dear and treasured friend and enriched our lives in so many ways. We will always and forever remember and love him. Our condolences o Shar and the family. Bob and Brenda Wood
