Obituary of Selma Brooks (nee Bassendowski)

October 5, 1929 – Kelstern, Saskatchewan

August 18, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Selma Brooks of Calgary, AB, on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the age of 91 years.

Selma worked at the Hudson Bay Company for many years retiring in 1994. She accepted all the challenges life dealt her gracefully. Selma’s greatest joy was her family, whom she Facetimed or called daily.

Selma is survived by her children, Janet (Einar), Karen, Barry (Adera), and Rodney (Terry); her grandchildren, Sean (Melanie), Chrystal (Jamie), Kyle (Kristie), Karla (John), and Ryan; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Anne, Marlene; and brother Rudy (Berva).
