Obituary of William (Bill) George GRAYSTON

October 10, 1951 – Regina, Saskatchewan
August 18, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

William (Bill) Grayston, beloved son of Isobel Rainey of Sherwood Park, AB, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the age of 69 years.

Bill was born in Regina, SK, on October 10, 1951. He moved to Calgary, AB, in the late 1950’s, where he lived for the majority of his life. As a young man, Bill had passion for boxing and was coached by his father, Alberta Sports Hall of Famer, Gordon Grayston. Bill dabbled in many careers but his favourite by far were the years spent working in the far north. You could always count on Bill for a lively discussion on politics or current events and he was never shy to share his thoughts. When combined with his love of laughter and sense of humor, Bill was popular in any setting. Bill faced a number of health challenges over the past several years that slowed him down but he remained upbeat and happy.  

Besides his loving mother Isobel, Bill is survived by his children, Neil (Alicia) Grayston, of New Westminster, BC, Billy Harper of Kelowna, BC, and Justine and Melissa Harper of Calgary, AB. Bill is also survived by numerous relatives and friends. Bill was predeceased by his partner, Jody Harper and father, Gordon Grayston. 

Cremation has occurred and due to Covid there will be no service. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed here.
