Obituary of Susan Harriett Young (nee Allison)

March 8, 1928 – Princeton, British Columbia 
August 20, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness the family of Susan Harriett Young (nee Allison) announces her passing on Friday, August 20, 2021 at the age of 93 years.

Susan was born to the pioneer Allison family of Princeton, BC, on March 8, 1928. She was married to Grant Alexander Young for sixty years. She worked at BC Telephone Company in Princeton from 1946-1954 as Operator, then Chief Operator before starting their family.

Susan was a loving mother and granny and would do anything for her family. She loved her family and relished in their accomplishments and was especially happy if she could support them in anyway.

Deeply missed and grateful we have had her in our lives she leaves behind her children, Alan Young and Kathy Young Modesette; her grandchildren, Jessica Young, Logan (Courtney) Young, Allison Modesette, Foster Modesette; and her great-grandchild Luke Young. Thank you to Mary Young for her constant support. 

In accordance with her wishes, there will be a private family gathering at the Allison family graveside in Princeton, BC. Gone from us but leaving memories death can never take away, memories that will linger while upon this earth we stay. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
