Obituary of Frank VETSCH

June 22, 1928 – Bluffton, Alberta
August 26, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

Frank Vetsch beloved husband of Jeanne, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2021 at the age of 93.  

Frank was born in Bluffton Alberta and later attended U of A.  Frank was a petroleum engineer, respected oilman and lifelong member of APEGA.  Having worked his way up to executive positions he also headed up a number of major companies.  He pioneered shallow gas development in SE Alberta and was very successful opening up that area.   His career created many close professional and family friendships with others working in the industry.  In his spare time Frank loved to golf recording 2 thrilling holes in one.  Frank and Jean spent many great years of cruising, travelling worldwide, golfing and enjoyed entertaining their many friends. Frank is also known for his generosity to his family and philanthropy to St Marys University and U of A.  He was deeply devoted to his Catholic faith, his church and family.

Frank was predeceased by Irene his first wife and mother of his children, Conrad (Donna), Larry, David (Diane) and Jacqueline Vetsch, grandchildren Stephanie, Michelle, and Neil and great grand daughter Violet.  He also embraced his extended family: Jeanne’s children Donna (Ernie), Jim (Pam) and Ken (Kim) grandchildren, Lisa, Karen, Geoff, Chris, Katya and Jeremy, and four great-granddaughters.
