Obituary of Kalen “Peter” Charles McKay

November 26, 1986 - Roblin, Manitoba
August 24, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Peter McKay of Tsuut’ina Nation, AB passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the age of 34 years.

Peter participated in the Spartan Races and acquired many medals over the years. He loved the outdoors and would hike and go rafting with his children in the mountains often. Family time was very important to Peter and he would spend as much time as possible with his family.  He worked as a roofer, a position he enjoyed, and he had the ability to make friends easily and he had a wicked sense of humour.

Peter is survived by his loving children, Kasia, Kobe, Cortez and Kalen Jr.; his two mothers, Caroline and Margaret; six sisters, Elsie, Daryane, Kirsten, Carrie Joy, Danita, and Kristina; and six brothers, Anthony, Trevor, Paul, Skylar, Ryan and Adrian. He is also survived by his grandfather, Wilson Okeymaw and his Koko Marjorie McKay.  Peter was a very proud Papa to his nieces and nephews.

Peter was predeceased by his fathers, Norman Giroux and Byron Dodginghorse; his sister Lisa Big Plume; niece Louise Big Plume; grandfather, David Severite, and uncle Floyd McKay.
The family apologizes if we have missed anyone.
