Obituary of G. Barry Wilkinson

August 4, 1940 –Vancouver, British Columbia  
August 28, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

Gordon “Barry” Wilkinson beloved husband and father, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the age of 81 years, at Cedars Villa in Calgary.  

Barry was a broadcast technologist with the CBC until his retirement in 1987. Barry came from a proud labour family and was an active member of the union and a proud supporter of the NDP. In his retirement he kept up his passion for audio by helping with the sound system at the Unitarian Church of Calgary. 

He is survived by his wife Muriel Turner-Wilkinson; his children Kathy Eckert and John Wilkinson (Andrea); and his sister Arlene Brinkhurst (Gordon). 

Friends and associates will be invited to honour Barry’s memory and reminisce about him over Zoom through the Unitarian Church at a date and time to be announced later. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
