Obituary of Hector Eduardo Ruiz Barrera

September 30, 1952 - Soyapango, El Salvador

August 28, 2021 - Airdrie, Alberta

 

Hector Ruiz Barrera, beloved husband of Miriam Ruiz (nee Figueroa), of Airdrie, AB, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the age of 68 years.

 

Hector was a role model of a father, brother and friend. His family was everything to him.  He understood that he must be a reflection of God’s love for us. His efforts of unity were not unnoticed. Hector fleed his native country of El Salvador to pursue a safer home for his family and called Canada his new home.  He lived in Vancouver, BC until April 2021 and then resided in Airdrie, AB. 

 

Hector had an infectious smile, he touched many lives, with his kindness, generosity, warmth and humour. Hector definitely impacted many lived throughout his lifetime, and we are all gathered to celebrate his blessed life.

 

Hector was born on September 30, 1952 to a humble home where he was raised with eight siblings. As children, Hector and his siblings studied hard to better their lives. His hard work led him to achieve his professional goal of being a CAD-technician and a financial educator. He took pride in by helping others achieve their financial goals and dreams. Hector also during his life, took many pleasures of traveling alongside his family and beloved wife. Many pictures display his genuine smile. For those who crossed paths with Hector, they learned quickly of his faithfulness of friendship. Hector had many lifelong friends who he took the pleasure in speaking with frequently. Hector’s main focus in life was to communicate the love he had for all of us.

 

Besides his loving wife Miriam, Hector is survived by children, Maria Aguilar, Claudia Barraza and Hector Ruiz; his sons and daughter-in-law, Tony Aguilar, Jose Barraza and Lesly Ayala; and  granddaughters, Raquelle Ruiz-Ayala, Eva Ruiz-Ayala, Aurora Aguilar and Veronica Barraza.  

 

Hector is also survived by his siblings, Maria Valle, Alex Ruiz, Roberto Ruiz, Carmen Bruni, Ana Eric, Luis Ruiz, Ana Mercedes Corpuz and Martin Ruiz; His brothers and sisters in-law, Roberto Valle, Clelia Ruiz, Isabel Ruiz, Paul Bruni, Emmanuel Eric, Isabel Ruiz-Rivas, Danny Corpuz and Sara Ruiz; and his  nieces and nephews: Alex Valle, Patricia Arendt, Victoria Johnson, Yvonne Ruiz, Veronica Ruiz, Roberto Ruiz, Luis Ruiz, Ivan Eric, Rebecca Lowman, Sophia Eric, Sarah Eric, Daniel Eric, Marta Ruiz, Kevin Ruiz, Raquel Vasquez, Vanessa Ruiz, and Fabiola Ruiz; as well as numerous cousins and friends.

 

Hector was predeceased by Victoria Ruiz-Barrera and Anselmo Ruiz.
