Obituary of Karon Wilson (nee Rosso)

Karon Wilson of, Calgary, AB passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the age of 71 years after a courageous battle with cancer.
Karon was a devoted ‘Hockey Mom’ supporting her son Allan, her pride and joy, through several years of hockey culminating with the Calgary Royals. She was an avid runner with the Westhills Warriors Run Club and Run21 Calgary. In 2018, Karon ran a 10K race in San Antonio and placed 1st in her age group. Karon was also a member of the Guns of the Golden West since 2015. She regularly performed along with Bob Wilson and other members at the Calgary Stampede and Aspen Crossing. Through her involvement with these different activities, Karon developed long lasting relationships.
Karon had a lifelong passion for travelling and adventure. Her many escapades included skydiving, bicycling in France and climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro just to name a few. She enjoyed sharing these activities with family and friends and created lifetime memories. Karon’s continuous positive outlook, courage and her love for family and friends made her final journey a peaceful one.
Karon is survived by her loving son Allan Wilson of Norfolk, Virginia, USA, ex-husband and long-time friend Bob Wilson, her siblings, Vincent Rosso (Katherine), Deborah Calon (Michael), Sharon Baker, Philip Rosso (Marilyn), Jennifer Abrams (Steve) and Dale Rosso (Cammy); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Karon was predeceased by her mother Katherine (1992) and father Sylvio (1995).
A Gathering will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel Of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Rd.
