Obituary of Maria Virginia Marcelo

Maria Marcelo, beloved partner of Cromwell Ochava, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at the age of 46 years.

Maria was born in Rizal, Philippines, on February 2, 1975. She moved to Calgary, AB, in 2012. Maria graduated from the National Teachers College with two years Computer Secretarial and she also studied at Technological Institute of the Philippines (Manila) B.S in Computer Engineering. Maria enjoyed watching TV series when she had free time. She also enjoyed going outside and exploring.

Maria had a lot of quotes that she made by herself, but what's most memorable for us was "It's all in the mind". She would tell other people to have a good mindset because it will change how you view the world and how you're going to take action on different situations. Maria was one of the people who had a strong will and will get things done once she put her mind into it. She will be most remembered for her laugh and jokes. Maria’s laugh was recognizable and it would make you smile too. She will also be remembered for her eyes, many of her friends have said that her daughters have the same eyes as hers. Many of us will remember Maria for different kind of things.

Besides her loving partner, Maria is survived by her two daughters, Jersey and Trixie. Maria is also survived by her two sisters, Mary Ann and Anna Theresa who live in the Philippines with their families; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Maria was predeceased by be her younger sister Cory Dajac. Now, the two of them will continue to guide us from above.
