Dear Erwin., Alex and I feel blessed to have called you family and friend for many years. We shall miss you greatly and are sorry we cannot be with you all at this sad time. Cheers to the man that introduced to my first taste of wine at age 12. Visiting him and the rest of the family in Calgary was my first ever plane trip and I will never forget all the great times he provided my mom and I. From delicious steak to seeing the Calgary Stampede, he was truly a great person and role model.
Anna & Cathie, I’m deeply sorry to hear about your loss. I’ll remember Erwin for always being so kind to me and his sense of humor. My condolences to the family.

Dear Uncle Erwin,
I just wanted to say thank you for being my favourite Uncle! You were the playful, energetic Uncle that every kid wanted.
As I grew up, I could always count on you for support, encouragement, help of any kind and the brightest of smiles. I loved your strong Berlin accent (because only the best things come out of Berlin) even when it was bragging about your masonry projects.
Your skills where unparalleled- a handyman extraordinaire! I am so sorry that I won’t be with you on Tuesday but you will never be far from my heart! Never goodbye, just cheerio for now until we meet again.
I loved that man. He was so true. Always ready for a practical joke. If you ever bump into him again don't play cards with...love you cathie.

We were blessed to live beside Erwin for 14 years. After we moved we had Erwin do a pretty big project for us that spanned over a few years, in his retirement years. The neighbors loved to watch him work and would always walk by and compliment him on his skillful work and craftmanship. Many tried to engage him to do a job for them. Rarely do you see someone who is such a perfectionist in their work. We are so grateful for knowing Erwin and his family. Our deepest sympathy to you.
