Obituary of Margaret Dorrell Fettig

December 8, 1939 – Nanaimo, British Columbia    

September 7, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

Margaret Dorrell Fettig of Calgary, AB, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at the age of 81 years.

Margaret was a Vancouver Island girl at heart but spent most of her adult life in Edmonton and Calgary.  She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and crib – winning the Open Doubles 55+ in the Edmonton Seniors Games in 2000. Although she had a stroke in 1977, she maintained a great sense of humour, keeping the staff at Newport Harbour Care Centre smiling and laughing asking for a beer.  

She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.  

She will lovingly be remembered by her son Thomas Patt of Calgary, AB, daughter Terri Patt of Vancouver, BC, her stepchildren, Trudy Hoffman (Gary) of Osoyoos, BC, Tori Sassone and Renee Balcom of Washington State; as well as her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband John Fettig and her brother Tom McConnell.
