Gestures
As newcomers to Calgary, one snowy April, 1974, the Bothwell family took up residence across the back alley from the Cook family.
Our children were close in age to the children of Mary and Bob; consequently many crossings of the gravelly and well-treed alley took place as the four played closely together, Geoff and Earl with Neil tagging along, and Jenny. Bat and balls were common and some of these antics were filmed with the old 8mm camera, which film was sometimes run backwards through the projector to the great delight of the children watching... "falling off chairs with laughter".
These were the best of growing-up times.
Peggy and John are remembering these as bright times, strengthened by the attentiveness and hospitality of Mary and Bob Cook and the houses separated by grassy yards and the width of a lane. We are truly sorry for your loss, but heartened by memories of times not forgotten.
Condolences to all family and friends... persevere. Let us altogether be steadfast.
Peggy, John, Earl, Neil Bothwell and families.
