Ian Cecil

Obituary of Ian Cecil

January 11, 1982 – Canmore, Alberta
September 13, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, father, uncle, cousin, grandpa, nephew and good friend, Ian Wilf Gordy Cecil, on Monday, September 13, 2021 at the age of 39 years.

Ian was a humble, loving, energetic guy with a great sense of humor. He would laugh and laugh with his brother, Hayden. They were always together.

Ian, like his brother, Hayden, had a love for music. He played the drums and sang; he also played the guitar and bass. Ian, Hayden and their cousin Kerri, formed a band and named it Kold Kozz. Ian loved to record music and he would upload them online to a music site. Ian was a helpful person.  If you needed help he would help without hesitation.

Ian is survived by his three children, Fieldy, Kylie (Brody) and Roman; his grandchildren Regan, Brayden and Zendaya; his common-law-partner, Vina Hunter; his sister Korol (Adam); his special niece Neve (Elijah); and his nephew Nicholas. We apologize if we have missed anyone.

He was predeceased by his mother Margaret Mark; his father Clarence Cecil; his sister Rochelle Cecil; his maternal grandparents Wilfred and Lorna Mark; and his paternal grandparents, Gordon and Evelyn Cecil.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of the late Clarence Cecil (Morley, AB) on Monday, September 20, 2021.  Funeral Services will be held at the Cecil family plot (Morley, AB) on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 12:00 p.m.   Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Ian’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
