Obituary of Julia Zelaya Torres

Maria Zelaya Calgary, AB passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the age of 98 years.

Julia was a Hairdresser, and avid reader. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, scrabble, watching the news online, and sharing time with friends in her seniors' group. Julia was proud of the birth of her three grandsons, Sergio, Hugo and Pablo; and the birth of her great-grandson Julian. She enjoyed going back to El Salvador whenever she had the chance. Julia will be remembered most for her strong will, her kindness and compassion.

Julia is survived by her daughter Maribel Dubon, three grandchildren, Sergio, Hugo, Pablo, and great-grandchild Julian. She is also survived by her nieces, Mabel, Wendy and Janet. Julia was predeceased by her brothers, Manuel, Jose, and Oscar; sister Elena; and her son-in-law Pablo Dubon.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel Of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.  Those attending will be asked to confirm one of the following, (A) COVID vaccination (date requested), OR (B) a negative COVID test (within 72 hours), OR (C) Medical exemption OR (D) Under 12 years of age.
