Cayenne Brianne McCuaig of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the age of 23 years.

Cayenne was born on December 18, 1997 in Lethbridge, AB, to the late, Cynthia Marie Mccuaig and Brian Dayrider. She was the youngest of her four siblings. Cayenne attended Piitoayis School, continued through Terry Fox Junior High and graduated from Jack James High School. After graduating she aspired to become a photographer. At the time of death, she was working on becoming an addiction outreach worker. Cayenne was known for her big heart, kindness and never ending love for her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor, very shy but was a wonderful friend to have. She was very understanding, loving, helpful and caring. 

She is survived by her son Waylon Chance Mccuaig and her loving partner, Sarah Desjarlais; her siblings, Jamie Redcrow (Andrea), Adam Redcrow (Kara), and Skyler Wells and late sister Dezeray Wells; her adoptive mother Tanya Johnston (Hugh) and adoptive siblings, Mackayla Crowshoe (Wayne), Leighton Crowshoe, and Josh Crosschild. Cayenne loved all her nieces and nephew, Arianna, Khloe, Daniel and Sofia. We weren't her only loved ones she is loved by Trisha Calf (Trey), Roxy Spotted Eagle, Emma Threesuns and Lacie Wolfchild. On behalf of Cayenne’s family, we would like to thank Siksika Children Services and Cayenne's worker, Craig First Rider. The family apologizes if we have missed anybody, Cayenne was loved by many. Cayenne was predeceased by her parents, Cynthia McCuaig and Brian Day Rider; her sister Dezeray Wells, her nephew Kieven Scout and aunt Penny Many Guns.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Jamie Red Crow (721 - 44 Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.  

Funeral Services  will be held at the residence of Jamie Red Crow (721 - 44 Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Traditional Feast will be held immediately following the graveside Service at St. Mary’s cemetery (Blood Tribe Reserve, Alberta). The family thanks everyone for their thoughts, prayers and condolences. It has been a reminder of the impact Cayenne has had on so many others.
