Obituary of Noemi Garduno

June 8, 1936 – Mandaluyong City, Philippines

September 21, 2021 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Noemi Reyes Garduno, who passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at the age of 85 years after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Noemi was born on June 8, 1936 in Mandaluyong City, Philippines to parents, Avelina Santiago and Dominador Reyes. Noemi met and married the love of her life, Ireneo and they started a family together.

Noemi and Ireneo immigrated to Canada in 1990 with their daughters and son. Her children would soon marry, welcoming Peter, Rey and Airlaine into the family. Noemi lovingly cared for her grandchildren while her children worked hard to provide better lives for their families.

She loved to spend time with her family. Her house had an unconditional open door policy, and would always tend to loved ones with deep care. Noemi was a talented cook and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She kept her mind sharp by doing word and sudoku puzzles. She had a kind heart and a strong mind which she consistently displayed, even in her later years.

Noemi is survived by her daughters, Melani and Anna; son, Arnel; daughter-in-law, Airlaine; sons-in-law, Peter and Rey; grandchildren, Jeleini, Joyce, Justin, Tim and Keira. Noemi is also survived by her siblings, Armando, Lilia, Carolina, Reynaldo and their families. Noemi was predeceased by her husband Ireneo; son, Froilan; mother, Avelina; father, Dominador.
