Obituary of Cynthia Ann Sebastian

Cindy Sebastian of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the age of 63 years.  

Cindy was born on December 6, 1957 in Prelate, SK. She was the eldest of seven siblings, whom she adored and cared for throughout her life. Cindy was the first to come to Calgary in 1974 where she met her love Jerry, and they wed in 1988.

Cindy is survived by her brothers, Darvin Materi, Thomas “Tom” Materi (Casey); and sisters, Lila Sprecker (Greg), Joanne Materi, and Jackie Klassen (Barry). She is also survived by her extended family Susan Bailie of Ottawa; her cherished nieces, Chloe Sprecker, and Jennifer Klassen, nephew Tyler Klassen; as well as many family members and friends throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan. Cindy was predeceased by her parents, Silverius (Sil), and Marlene, her brother Phillip (Tim) and her husband Gerard (Jerry).

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Cindy’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at the Salvation Army Agape Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Cindy.
