Obituary of Tyrone Jr. Crawler

It is with great sadness that the Crawler/Dixon family announce the sudden passing of our son, father, brother, friend, Ty Raven Crawler (Nîth) on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the age of 32 years old.

Ty had such a beautiful smile and a heart of gold. He was very quiet person, who always had a lot of respect for others. Ty received his education at the Exshaw School. He loved playing sports, especially hockey and golf. He was also a chef for more than ten years at the Stoney Nakoda Resort. Ty carried the lineage from his great-great-great-great-grandfather George Crawler, who was a councillor/headman at the signing of Treaty 7 in 1877.

Ty will be remembered by his two children, Nate and Niya, whom he cherished dearly. Ty will also be sadly missed by his father Tyrone Crawler and mother Corrina Dixon, brothers, Trandy (Cheyenne) Crawler, Preston Dixon, Blaze House, Tanner Rider; and sister Kelly Dixon; grandmas, Glenda Crawler, Dolly Runner, Patsy Simon; and his grandpa Lou Jr. Crawler. Ty has lots of uncles, aunties, nieces and nephews he also cherished.

He was predeceased by his paternal great-grandparents, Sarah and Lou Sr. Crawler; grandfather Frank Crawler; uncles, Cordy Crawler and Ivan Wesley Jr. He was also predeceased by maternal great-grandparents, George and Rosie Runner; beloved grandmother Margaret Dixon; grandfather Donnie Dixon; uncles, Tom Dixon and Joe Rabbit; and cousin Kash Dixon.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Corinna Dixon (Morley, AB) on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 5:00 p.m, and at the residence of Glenda Crawler on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. 

A Private Funeral Service for immediate family only will be held at the residence of Glenda Crawler (Morley, AB) on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. John Snow Jr. presiding. A viewing procession will not follow the funeral service. Please say your goodbyes to Ty during the Wake Services at either location. Strict Covid-19 restrictions are being observed. Extended family members and others are welcome to attend Ty’s burial at the Chiniki Cemetery (Morley, AB), with social distancing and masks outside.
