Obituary of Evelyn (Ev) Doris Scott

Evelyn Scott of Calgary, AB, passed away at the Bethany Care Centre in Calgary, AB on Friday, September 24, 2021 at the age of 89 years.
Evelyn will be lovingly remembered and missed by her two sons, Michael (Justina) and Ken; granddaughters, Cheyenne and Raven; as well as great-grandchildren, Navy and Keith. She also leaves behind her treasured nieces, Heather and Lori. Evelyn was predeceased by her only sister Shirley and brother-in-law Larry.
Evelyn was born in Calgary, AB on November 12, 1931 to Fred and Matilda Pepperdine. In 1955 Evelyn married Raymond Scott and together they raised two boys in the family home in Highwood where she continued to reside until June of 2021.
Her enjoyment of music started young with learning to play the piano and completing the grade levels at the Royal Conservatory of Music. This led to her composing the text and melody to a hymn later in life (I am a Child of God). Evelyn was devoted to God and her relationship to Him was very important to her. As a graduate of the Henderson College of Business, she had a career that evolved from bookkeeper to financial officer of a corporation. Evelyn was a proficient seamstress who sewed many of her own clothes. She liked to keep up with current events and challenge her mind daily with crossword puzzles. Her greatest enjoyment though, came with spending time with her family.
It was always a pleasure to spend time with Evelyn. She was a kind person with a keen mind and a sharp wit and was known for being fair and always doing her best. Those in her circle, whether they remember Evelyn as a mother, grandma, aunt, or friend, knew that she loved them.
