Antonio Maddalo

Obituary of Antonio Maddalo

January 7, 1955 – Battipaglia, Salerno, Italy
September 28, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

Tony Maddalo, beloved husband of Del Manhas, and loving father to Kaila Maddalo, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at the age of 66 years.

Tony was born in Battipaglia, Salerno, Italy on January 7th, 1955. He immigrated to Canada in 1987, and two years later his daughter Kaila was born (and the Flames won the Stanley Cup, both of equal importance). Tony was the proud owner of “Antonio’s Garlic Clove” for nineteen years with his wife Del, and was something of a local celebrity for his creation of the “Four Cheese Garlic Bake”. Tony will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for his passionate personality and colourful f*n language. He enjoyed ending his day relaxing on his deck with a glass of scotch (single malt) while watching his sports. Although Tony had an innate talent for cooking, outside of the restaurant, his other “job” was golfing. He also loved playing, fixing, and building guitars, as well as wood-working and sewing. Tony had many memorable and laughter-filled trips to Scottsdale with his wife and friends. His most memorable vacation was driving to Disneyland with his wife and daughter. While on the trip, he had the opportunity to summit the peak of any great golfer’s bucket list: a round at Pebble Beach, in Carmel, California. His score… is unimportant.

Tony is also survived by his brother Sab Maddalo, sister Anna Maddalo both of Calgary, AB, his mother and father-in-law, Kamla and Jarnail Manhas of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

A private Funeral Service will be held for Tony’s family on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Tony’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
